Maiden Voyage courtesy Hampton Trails

Yesterday I couldn't wait to get outside. The weather finally broke and the temps made it over 40. It's like my previous post about perspective, If the normal weather had been 60 I would not have even thought twice about getting on my bike and riding. The weather had been in the single digits and had not risen above the freezing mark in nine consecutive days. I was itching to ride A bike, road, mountain, tricycle it didn't matter to me, see perspective!

I built the BMC Racemaster and I have been staring at it for days wondering if it was going to feel as good or better than my S-Works. Of course folks are never going to admit if they didn't like some new and expensive that they just bought in the cycling world. I do go through alot of bikes but working at a shop provides certain perks that the average consumer doesn't receive. Greg keeps teasing me about getting "this" bike in a couple of months when I'm tired of it. I kept the '06 S-Works for 3 years and loved that bike, it fit me like a glove, no joke! I was doubtful that the BMC would fill this void. Earlier in 2009 I rode a couple of demo models and really liked them but the fit needed tweaking with some stem and saddle changes that I couldn't make because of them being demos. I knew what size I needed because I keep notes on things like that (yea I'm a data nerd) I have notes on my mountain bike and motocross suspension settings as well (OK I'm a geek too). Just before the ride I made a minuscule seat post adjustment and felt that I had it almost perfect. About 15 minutes into the ride I was gelling with this bike quickly! I'm impressed with it and 100% satisfied absolutely. We did the TNR route and took it easy for 30 miles, the last 7 miles or so that routes you over Buffalo mountain was so COLD! Slush, sand, grit, gravel and near freezing temps made for a very miserable finish of a nice winter ride. Thanks go out to Greg, Ducky, Aaron, John and Dave for a much needed spin on the road bike.

I recently received my custom BMX number plate that I had made with Hampton Trail's logo on it. I think it's pretty pimpin' if I do say so myself.

If I told you, you wouldn't believe me. end of year closeouts are the best! Frameset retails for 2K new though.

I'm going to blame you and Brian, but mostly you (because it's easier) for the serious bike lust/need/desire I'm experiencing.

Glad to know you're getting it fit though!
