Here is my problem, I haven't been 100% satisfied with the 2009 epic although it is my favorite bike design. The best of both worlds, a hardtail when climbing and a full suspension when you need it, it climbs better than any bike with the Yeti ASR a very close second. The old design of the epic was the best in my opinion. This new design mirrors the Titus and Specialized's failure at trying to be a shock producer are the biggest reasons I don't like this style. The old design was flawless you could not feel the transition of the rear suspension when the brain technology kicked in the new design you can. So here lies my confusion...... do I get another yeti or try to find another '06 or older epic which will be probably difficult. Ebay doesn't have much to choose from as a frame only. Yea, yea, yea I know I get a different bike every 6 months or so but change is good sometimes............sometimes not! Right now I'm thinking ORANGE . ok insert comments at end...thank you.

I strongly suggest getting another Yeti. Unless you plan on doing some XC racing I would recommend the 575, although it's not much heavier than the ASR but has 6" travel. Your welcome to ride mine anytime if you want to see how the 575 compares. You won't be dissapointed. With your familiarity of the ARC and ASR I would be shocked if rode the 575 and didn't think it was the best all around of the three.

Don't buy either get another 29er then you can climb good, race fast, & look cool all with one bike not to mention your wheels can double as trash can lids!

Oh wait it's too late nevermind.
