IT"S THAT TIME AGAIN

Whew, sorry I haven't been rambling for the past week or so. It's been a busy time for sure. So where are we at and what's been going on...

The shop has been busier than a one-legged man in a but kickin' contest. The tour got things hopping at the shop in July and it has carried over into August for sure. We have sold out of all our bikes in the back, hardly any company has their 2012's in stock ready to ship, total nutso nowadays.

ETSU fall classes start next Monday but the first race of the season, we host, is this weekend. We have been busting our humps making sure it's ready to go now instead of waiting until the last minute from previous seasons. It looks great, I single handedly finished up the short track and all it needs is taping Friday. XC is ready to go thanks to all the XC guys on the team, Dual Slalom is also ready thanks to the gravity guys. All we need to do now is clear a tree on the DH course that just fell a couple days ago. That pic above is a spot we repaired last year that sunk in after the repair, hopefully it will settle better than last time. I have already put in a request for nice weather for this coming weekend - hope it's approved!

Short Track racing has been wide open this season. We held off getting this started and I think it helped turnout. We will probably use this as a model now. Wait 'til the end of road season then start short track. That way the CX bug is starting to take effect and gets peeps out riding on the grass. Record average turnouts at every one this year thanks to the CX skillz clinic at the soccer fields hosted by Mr. Seek. CX at 6pm then Short Track at 7pm - starting your week off right on Monday evenings.

Braaap !!! Here's a small jump that is in the short track course. I'm amazed how many "mtn bikers" refuse to hit this small jump during short track. It's only about 18" high and as you can see only two bike lengths long, not bad, people still take the "ride around" though. We have also had a couple of people, including myself, clear this on a CX bike! I will admit it feels very WEIRD getting air on a bike with drop bars. Crashes?? Oh yes! This small jump has claimed many a rider too. Look...
