Time off isn't good.......

Wow, I haven't rode my road bike in 19 days. 19 days what's wrong with me? I went to the pack rides at Lamar tuesday and thought I was going to get my but handed to me but to my suprise I rode ALOT better then I thought I would. I didn't even hurt near as bad as I thought it would either. Then comes today, the "TNR" ride we do most every thursday. Angie and I haeded oyt 10 min early to help her get a head start. We were riding over near "little mexico" and I made a turn and didn't signal to her and cut her off to where she hit my rear wheel. She almost recovered but in the end she fell, not bad but she fell none the less. She got a small scrape on her knee and a little one on her elbow. She's tough and she shook it off and we continued on. We rode on til the major group caught up with us just before Greenwood dr. She let me ride off with the faster paced group so I could get a stronger ride in. Off I went! I took off a wee bit late to catch the lead group and I was spending alot of energy too. I passed a bunch of folks but they were just taking it easy. I hooked up with Steve and Zach and we were haulin'. It's hard to keep up with Zach hes a machine. He drug me at nearly 38 mph in his draft and I was ready to hurl....lol. He eventually dropped the both of us and then Steve sat up and it was me by my lonesome left to trod on back to the parking lot at ETSU where we start. Buffalo didn't cooperate like it usually does. I didn't have the climbing speed I normally do up buffalo tonight. I guess the "not riding" caught up to me tonight. I'm going to have to hunker down if want to do good at the Kingsport Crit in a couple of weeks. So I am going to get some strong riding in here in the next couple of weeks to help my situation all I can.
After i returned to the parking lot the shies looked really bad back over near buffalo. Someone said they sen lightning too. I took all my junk off got the bike on the roof and headed up there to get Angie. I caught up with her nearly at the top coming up the backside. She instructed me to wait at the top so I did. I backed all the way to the top and in just a minute she was there. She was soaked to the bone. Got her in the exploder and we headed back to the house instead of getting pizza at Buck's like the norm. Went out back picked some lettuce that we planted earlier this season and had a nice salad before getting ready for bed. Not much planned for tomorrow but we have a mountain bike club camping trip saturday that we are going to if it doesn't rain us out. Just have to wait and see I guess.

Later G..............................
