Today is a day of rest (per Wes) getting ready to rumble with about a hundred collegiate cyclists. Every year ETSU has a big race here in my back yard. Literally in my backyard, the trails come within 100yds of where my house is. I ride alot here since its so convienent.
I rode there a couple of times this week, the course is dry & fast; in other words... great shape! Last night I got a TNR ride in. A little over 30 miles since I rode from the house. Nice little pace too. Not hard just steady, at least until we got to the climb at Buffalo. By the looks of it alot of the TCRC local club riders were looking a little burned out. They did not have that "eye of the tiger" look in their eyes like in the spring. We were rolling pretty fast in my book for ascending. I looked down and ....18 MPH. Wow we were moving and that was right before the kick at the .5 mile marker on the climb too. At the kicker we slowed and peeps were falling off the pace left and right. I stayed on and got to the top about 5th or so. I was huff'n bad, that hurt! I haven't been riding the road bike alot. I have had the craving for the 29er alot lately. Anyway Austin and I will head over to watch short track in the morning(they won't let us non-college kids race ST) in the afternoon the 4X is on then Sunday morning 9am its my turn. My class "B" will be doing 4 laps. Its usually 3 so I will have to save some for the end. We will see how it goes.............
