Wow, I have had the "bug" for steel lately! I looked and looked, shopped and played on the internet 'til I found what I thought was my best deal. Low and behold I came up with a Redline steel 29er frame and fork for a ridiculous price that I couldn't pass up! I have to move some bikesin the house to make room for more bikes in the stables though. The SE is history, sorry little red bike. I always knew that thing was STIFF but after riding the steel, I realized that it was too stiff for me. So its on Ebay now to pay for this new 29er frame.
Next - while I'm up at Brian's shop Thursday to pick up Angie's UNICYCLE and getting a couple of parts for my bikes, I spied something on the wall.................

MASI CXR
I chatted with Brian to catch up on things with him while I put Angie's unicycle together. I asked him what he was wanting for the CXR. He looks and smiles and tells me what he will let me have it for. My jaw dropped.................. "REALLY?" I said. Wow, wheels started turning in my head. CX season IS here ! I have been riding the MTB's for the last two seasons and they are definitely at a disadvantage in the CX classes. My SS 29er on the other hand stands a better chance. Maybe, just maybe I should go home with this.........................SO I DID!!!! It was such a CRAZY cheap deal I couldn't pass this up. I HAD TO GET IT.(can you say impulse buy? and besides I'm helping the sluggish Bush economy, he he). So, I talked myself into it..lol. If there ever comes time to sell it I will make out like a bandit !!!!! It will give me more reasons to keep racing CX in the cold season. Today I spent alot of time getting them together and dialing them in. The stock seat on the Masi sucks. First thing I will change for sure. Also this is my first SS with horizontal dropouts. I'm glad I had some chain tensioners left over from my BMX days. I love the way that thing absorbs all the rough stuff. Im going with my rock shox up front for now. Maybe later I will put the rigid fork on it but for now its plush up front.
Tomorrow I put them to the test. CX at Meadow Creek near Newport,TN. First CX race of the year for Austin and I. We will fill you in later on the results.
Later G.................................................................................
