Do you ever wonder where your hard earned $$ goes after you purchase that ridiculously expensive Trek Madone bike? If you have plenty of disposable $$ cash you probably don't, I don't know or have friends like that nor do I want any like that. Well if you are spending money on any of the big three bike companies (Trek, Specialized or Cannondale) This is what that extra 33% of overpayment goes for................ fancy one-off bikes for the celebs. I would prefer that they save that $$ ( actually I prefer that they give us all a bike for free) and give the consumer the price break. Any bike company that would do that and have just a simple ad campaign would probably have a lions share of the market.
Special edition bikes with special paint/graphics..........
this isn't so bad, alot of riders personalize their bikes, it relatively cheap and inexpensive but I bet Trek paid alot more than they should have
Hmm, that graphic probably cost over $5......
And no telling how much that thing cost.... No I'm no Trek fan but I do like Specialized bikes. It's truly ashame that this bike will probably never see the trails again...
Ok fast forward........................All that hoop-la so that one day soon some dude like the one in the pic below can swing by a garage sale and see a clipless pedal equipped bike and think that the pedals are broken, pick this up cheap ($5) to fix it and then flip it for a profit.
These roadies turned "I rode a mountain bike for a day" don't appreciate good mountain bikes. I like Levi too and I'm not bashing him if seems that way I apologize. Poor Lance his days are numbered until the proof comes out that he doped. They all do it and still do!

Sorry I had to get that off my chest................. Locally we (the ETSU CYCLING TEAM) are getting ready to host the first MTB race of the season Aug 28-29th on campus and are getting some details nailed down for the CX race on Dec 4-5th. The shop is starting to slow down a tad too. I have repaired way too many roadmasters and next bikes that when I get to work on something nice I slow down and savor it like a fine wine, appreciating quality and the time one spends riding the bike that the owner appreciates so much.

I dope too
What is "Cost of Sales" that doesn't fit in to "Operating Expenses" or "Selling and Marketing?
That chart seems like shenanigans.
I was out riding my bike that day of the conference meeting, sorry.
The problem I see with that chart is that 97% of all statistics are made up.
Greg doesn't dope, he is dope
