I was in Radford, VA. Thursday. I had some extra time on my job so I thought I would stop at this small shop that I have passed more than 100 times, New Wheels. To tell you the truth I was gem searching. It's amazing what you can find at small shops like these. I walked inside and the old wooden floors creaked as you placed one foot in front of the other as old-timey shops do. The walls were full of Fuji's and Marin's. The shelves were crammed packed with all kinds of stuff, NO ORGANIZATION at all though. Crammed everywhere were old vintage parts galore. I'm not dis-respecting his shop, I guess its the way he likes it. I asked if he had any old BMX stuff, he showed me some stuff from back in my childhood days. He mentioned Ebay first so I knew I wasn't going to get any steals from him. He let me meander around some with some light friendly conversation, then I needed to get back to work. Cool little shop with tons of potential but he must be doing something right. He's been there since 1980.
Had me a little night ride wed. night at Warriors. Me and a buddy of mine got us a quick ride in. I was going to suggest a little more but his head lamp ran out of juice so we called it a night with just 1 lap. The conditions were perfect for fall night riding too. Light pair of tights and some arm warmers was all I needed. Almost KO'd a deer after leaving the place though, scared me to death.
